Question

166 – Trying to understand some timing. -Playing as Spider-man (Peter Parker) against Ultron. -A facedown drone minion is in play with the spider tracer upgrade attached. -The build support player side scheme is in play with 3 threat on it. -The facedown drone happens to be the web of life and destiny support card. – The minion is defeated triggering spider tracer, triggering build support, when exactly is the spider tracer upgrade and drone minion discarded in this situation?

Answer

  • The Drone minion takes enough damage to be defeated. However, Spider-Tracer interrupts the discarding of the minion, as its own ability must be resolved first.
  • The controller of Spider-Tracer removes 3 threat from Build Support, defeating Build Support; this triggers its “When Defeated” ability, which must be resolved immediately.
  • The controller then searches for a support card currently in their deck or discard pile.
  • Having resolved all abilities triggered, return to discarding the Drone minion.
