79 – How does Deathlok (NeXt Evolution 25) work? Can he grab Sky Cycle? Honorary Avenger if your identity isn’t an Avenger? A Training upgrade when he already had one?

Answer

Deathlok’s ability checks if the attachment he finds has any “attach to” requirements that he can meet. If he meets the requirements, he can attach the upgrade.
Deathlok can only attach Sky Cycle if he has the Avenger trait upon entering play. (I don’t think this is currently possible.)
Deathlok can attach Honorary Avenger, since his ability is “putting it into play” instead of “playing” it, so its play restriction doesn’t apply. All that matters is that he is a “friendly character” upon entering play.
Deathlok would need to have the X-Men trait to attach a Training card, and could only do so if he didn’t already have a Training card attached.
